KITE FLYING
SUNDAY
15 MARCH 2009
AFTER THE MORNING SERVICE
Sunday morning the 15th of March bring to church with you your kite, if you have one. We are bringing sack lunches and our drinks and staying after lunch to use the March winds to fly kites. You might want to bring kite tails.
For the children their craft in Children’s Church will be to design their own kite – so each child will have their own.
We hope you plan to come and enjoy the afternoon with us.
Before we go home we will have a Gospel Sing. There will be no 6:00 p.m. service.

THE FIVE FINGER PRAYER
Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

WITH OUR PEOPLE & OUR PEOPLE’S PEOPLE
On April 7th Brenda will be going to surgery. She has been suffering with a sinus infection and needs relief from that before the surgery.
~~~~~
Jayne Brummett’s Father, Dave, has been transferred to the Health Care Center. He is still having problems and will probably not be able to go home.
~~~~~
We have a dear sister who is having a rough time. Frankie is not eating very well, has a bladder infection and is much weaker. The family was told by a nurse that she may not be here long but she wasn’t a doctor. With this word we need to keep and her family her family in our prayers.

Following God
Isn’t Always Easy
Bro. Chuck and Sis. Judy Scroggs were great examples of following the Lord in all things. Since he had released from the pastorate in Bristow, Oklahoma they sought earnestly the will of God. Many offers came their way for all kinds of opportunities but God had not given them the go ahead to take any of them. It was very hard without money coming in to return a ‘good faith check’ in the amount of $17,000.00 for a job. They knew, however, if it was not what God wanted then it is worth nothing.
While in Indiana their in-pocket money dwindled to where they were not able to return home and come back for a meeting the followimg week in Ohio. The finances were so low they weren’t sure what to do. The need was taken to the Lord in prayer. That Friday the need was supplied when they received a card, in which was money. The person supplying the need didn’t know the situation – but God did. This benefactor was the instrument through whom God supplied their need.
It could be that we are on either end of that stick. We may be the one in need or the one supplying the need. Either way we need to listen to God and allow Him to work in our lives. The standard given is not one “for preachers only” but for each one of us who calls himself a child of God.
How did I know all this happened? I overheard a conversation in my home and told no one but Bro. Dave. I was then a witness to the supplying of the need that came from someone who did not know the need was so great. If we sit back, trust God, and put our little bit of faith to work, we will wonder at all the miracles we see take place in our lives and the lives of those around us. — God can do anything!

IN LOVING MEMORY…
Around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, 26th, Grace left this earth to be with her ‘favorite husband, Walter’ and the Lord. (In case you didn’t know she introduced Water to us as her favorite husband, who was her only husband.)
I remember the first time Grace and Walter walked into the church. I happened to be the greeter at the time. Grace walked in first and right through the doors she stated, “We’re strangers.” I replied, “No stranger than we are.” At the moment Grace and Water became part of our family.
I remember one day going over to see Grace when she was down. She was in her full size bed which was half covered with books. She was always reading. She would loan me two small devotional type books and when I returned them two more would come home with me. She was an avid reader.
Grace’s love for the Word and jokes we will always remember. She so reminded me of my Mother. Not in personality but in the sweetness of the Lord she possessed.
Grace we are so glad you are where you have worked so hard to be and we know you are having a wonderful time! We thank God He sent your our way!
~~~~~
The calling hours for Grace will not be arranged until Monday. If you would like to know tell Sis. Marge and she will let you know when she finds out.
